The entrance to the Canal St Denis from the Canal de l'Ourcq. Locks are sized for commercial barges; Canal Saint-Denis includes a 4km stretch of industrial warehouses and unloading wharves for bulk materials.

If you have traveled into Paris from Charles de Gaulle airport you may have noticed this canal, as the highway and rail line pass over it just north of the Stade de France (the oval stadium that is a landmark on the way into the city.)

Tour boats do not travel the Canal St. Denis, as it is far from scenic; it is used primarily by commercial barges with destinations there or by commercial and private boats wishing to shorten their trip through Paris, from the Seine to the Arsenal marina.
